TRAINING #9 - DEVELOPING BLOCK SKILLS IN VOLLEYBALL

Mutual ball warm-up

Two athletes try to throw the ball to their friend's head level with float kicks, while the receiving athlete performs a float kick after controlling the ball with an overhand pass

Learning New Skills

Learning New Skills (35 min.)

Athletes make a block jump from where they are. And they try to fall back to the area where they jumped, (hoop is used in the first attempts)

The athletes in pairs hit their hands in the air while jumping and facing each other

Athletes try to touch the specified point on the wall first from where they are, then take a step and try to touch it with a block position

Player A, throws the ball to his/her friend, who blocks the ball at the highest level. This exercise is done without a net.

Players go to the net, each player blocks from his/her area.

The athletes stand in pairs and hit each other with their hands on the net

The athletes play in pairs. One athlete throws the ball to the other from the 3m. line of the opposite court. The other athlete takes a step on the ball and blocks

Athletes in pairs block 3, then 4, 3, 3 and finally 2.

Athletes run at number 1 and block at number 2. Do 2 sit-ups at the 3 meter line, block at number 4 and back out

Athletes take turns to block the ball lifted by their friends in front of them, 2 straight, 3 with a sliding step, 4 turning sideways

One player continuously spikes from number 4 and the opposing players take turns to make a single block

Dynamic block teaching is done, athletes 2 and 4 players stand close to the middle area and it is easier to make 2 and 3 blocks to the area to be blocked.

Cool Down

Cooling Phase (10 min.)

25 free balls are thrown, if 5 blocks are made, the training is over
